Specific Responsibilities:
A summer research internship is available in the Department at the Foster City, CA, campus of Gilead Sciences
Essential Functions:
Under general supervision, the successful candidate(s) will support Gilead’s Global Supply Chain team with a focus on Logistics and Transportation, including ERP system updates, performance metrics and document creation to support international and domestic product transfer. The candidate will also have an opportunity to learn about international trade, including customs and FDA requirements. And working with external contract manufacturing sites, transportation partners and other global Gilead sites.
In addition to these functions, the candidate will support / drive projects within the Logistics function of Global Supply Chain. Possible projects include:
- Cost Analysis and Reduction/Trending
- Key Performance Indicator (KPI) creation and analysis
- Request for Quote (RFQ) data compilation and analysis
- SOP creation and revision
- SAP Project support
Required Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8
Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s or Masters program at an accredited US based university or college
Must be Rising Junior or Senior in undergrad or a Graduate or Doctoral Student
Pursuing degree in Computer Science, Supply Chain, Business (Finance).
Advanced data analysis skills using tools like Excel, Tableau, and SpotFire,
Must be enrolled in the Fall Semester at an accredited university/college after the completion of the internship
Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between June and September
Must be able to work remotely or relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship
Must show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination* prior to start of internship
