We are seeking a Patient Navigator who will be a vital part of the front-line patient and customer support for Kite Pharma.  In this position you will act as a compass for patients throughout their CAR-T journey and help translate this complex process along their treatment journey into a manageable one.  You will also provide patient-centered support and act as a liaison between patients, authorized treatment centers (ATCs), medical professionals, and internal resources and teams at Kite Pharma. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Patient Program Operations and can work Remote or be office based in Santa Monica, CA

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Conduct Kite Konnect™ Welcome Call
  • Assess patient’s needs upon initial Kite Konnect™ welcome call and periodically through navigation, matching the patient’s unmet needs with appropriate resources and support
  • Provide newly registered patients with Welcome Kit including patient support materials and resources
  • Assist patients/caregivers as appropriate within the context of Kite Konnect™ to function as a patient advocate, educator, and point of contact for patients
  • Educate patients and caregivers about their disease, CAR-T therapy, and the side effects of CAR-T therapy through product information materials such a package inserts, CAR-T Important Facts sheet and patient resources
  • Adhere to all appropriate Compliance standards outlined in business rules
  • Advocate for patients and provide materials for patient advocacy
  • Provide information on how patients can access reliable sources of information through various resources available on Kite Pharma websites
  • Assess patient barriers to CAR-T access such as finances, housing, transportation, childcare and refer patients to appropriate resources available
  • Act as point of contact for eligible patients enrolled in Travel and Lodging program
  • Manage patient referral process from physician to ATC through the Referral Portal/Consult Portal
  • Support patient / caregiver requests via the Patient Portal and assist with opt. in and navigation of resources
  • Direct patients to online tools such as how to find their closest authorized treatment center as well as how to access the CAR-T discussion tool
  • Field incoming phone calls from patients, authorized treatment centers and providers; triage calls and route to the appropriate team for further action if applicable
  • Conduct patient follow-up call throughout their treatment journey and post CAR-T infusion
  • Receive incoming data (such as travel / lodging applications, insurance cards, purchase order, trade policy cover) via fax or other sources; review, triage, and route data to the appropriate department or team member as applicable
  • Provide administrative support to Kite Konnect™ Case Managers for miscellaneous clerical tasks
  • Aid and support multiple ongoing department projects
  • Provide excellent customer service to all patients and internal/external customers

Basic Qualifications:

  • MA/MS and 3 years of experience in Nursing OR
  • BA/BS and 5 years of experience in Nursing OR
  • High school diploma and 9 years of experience in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
  • Oncology Nursing Experience
  • Oncology Certified Nurse Certification
  • Ability to navigate CAR-T patients throughout their CAR-T treatment journey
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service with high customer empathy
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
  • Ability to inventively and effectively solve problems
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service with high customer empathy
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
  • Ability to accurately and quickly process high volume of incoming data
  • Knowledge of salesforce, data entry and basic computer skills
  • Call center experience
