The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Director, Market Access & Reimbursement to join the Gilead Germany affiliate in Munich, Germany.
The Senior Director, Market Access & Reimbursement (m/f/d) will be responsible for the development and implementation of the German Market Access Strategy on national and regional level for the Gilead product portfolio. This Senior leader must be able to work effectively across Gilead’s commercial, policy, public affairs and medical organizations with a focus on the company’s late stage pipeline and commercial portfolio. He/she will ensure the reimbursement and access strategy delivers the optimal framework for successful commercial ambitions for the portfolio. This individual will have demonstrated experience with the formulation of clear and compelling value propositions that translate into an optimal market access environment for a product portfolio. Reporting to the General Manager, this individual will be a key member of the German Leadership Team and will participate in broader strategic initiatives relating to the growth of the German affiliate.
What you will do
- Leads the development and implementation of pricing strategy related to Patented Medicines and approvals consistent with the global pricing policy.
- Leads the development and implementation of the market access strategy in alignment with the global plan.
- Provides strategic leadership to the development of AMNOG dossiers and price negotiations.
- Leads the development and implementation of commercial contracting with sick funds and hospitals.
- Develops and implements strategy to ensure patient access to current and future brands including inputs to global strategy development.
- In partnership with global policy organization, builds productive relationships with key decision makers and influencers that affect pricing, reimbursement and patient access.
- In partnership with global public affairs organization, aligns the development and implementation of stakeholder group engagement plans in support of optimal patient access
- Leads and develops the local Market Access team to ensure delivery of optimal performance and future growth and development of staff.
- Responsible for the long-term growth and evolution of the department
- Member of German Leadership team (GLT).
- Builds productive relationships with key colleagues in other Gilead functions and affiliates (EU, global, US).
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- Strong strategic thinker with ability to formulate and develop complex strategy that results in action.
- Strong portfolio management skills and ability to objectively frame analyze and resolve trade-offs between projects.
- Able to effectively influence senior business leaders
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills in order to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of disciplines.
- Strong executive presence with ability to command respect through exercise of sound business judgment and clear decision-making.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams or work groups as well as direct reports.
- Successful experience developing productive external relationships across academia, the public sector and private sector.
- Strong knowledge of German pharmaceutical reimbursement and pricing issues, policies and trends.
- Recognized expertise in implementing a pharmaceutical communication plan including advocacy development.
- Exceptional healthcare experience with broad experience in market access, pricing, HTA, key accounts and commercial operations required.
- Advanced degree in economics, health economics, medicine, pharmacy, public health, health services research, business analytics, and/or financial analysis would be an asset.
